Collection: Fruiting Blocks

What's Included:

  • Substrate: A specially prepared growing medium inoculated with mycelium (the root-like network of a fungus).

Getting Started:

  1. Find a Suitable Location: Choose humid place without direct sunlight and a temperature between 70-80°F (21-27°C). A small closet or unused area of your living space works well.
  2. Cutting the block: Depending on the type of mycelium that you ordered will determine the type of cut to make to your bag. A simple Google or Youtube search will help you identify how to cut the block.
  3. Misting: Mist the substrate 2-3 times daily with clean water to maintain humidity. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to mold.
  4. Patience: Allow the mycelium to colonize the substrate. This process can take a few days to several week depending on the species.
  5. Harvest: Once mushrooms are mature, harvest them gently by twisting them at the base.

Care Tips:

  • Humidity: Maintain high humidity levels, ideally between 80-95%. You can use a humidifier, or place a plastic bag over the block. Additionally you can add these blocks to a fruiting chamber, tent, or directly to your garden bed(s) depending on the species and environment.
  • Ventilation: Ensure good air circulation to prevent mold and mildew.
  • Temperature: Keep the temperature within the recommended range of 70-80°F (21-27°C).
  • We suggest that you DO NOT keep your kit in your bedroom. Mushrooms produce spores that can agitate your lungs. Please harvest your mushrooms before they completely open. This will keep the amount of spores to a minimum.
